FEATURE: Web Service ( SOAP ) Tracking
In our efforts to push the technology envelope, ecommStats is the first in the industry to offer a non-image based web service. This new way of interfacing with the ecommStats system has many benefits.
Benefits of Web Service
- No image or script on your website pages
- More accurate tracking - does not rely on clients browser
- More information can be tracked - For example: Bots, such as Googlebot, can be monitored
Disadvantages of Web Service
Although there are many advantages, there are also disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that it is much harder to setup and may take some consultation. The other is that it cannot run on all websites. Your website must have the appropriate technology that can handle the web service requests.
